Hand-made gifts and crafts at Christmas are part of what makes this holiday so special. My mom made these 'santa face' cups when I was little for us. They are clear plastic cups with felt and google eyes glued on and a pull string for the 'cap'. We made a bunch this year for our confirmation group.
Another craft I enjoy making, I learned about in girl scouts. It is simple and easy and is not food or candy (which for diabetics and the like, is not a good gift) but it smells wonderful and will last about a week. It is a clove apple. You use red 'tule' and cover an apple with whole cloves. You stick a large paper clip into the top of the apple and tie the 'tule' around the paperclip with a green ribbon. I like to tell my friends that it is okay to 'toss' the whole thing after a week. It will make your car, or kitchen or closet smell wonderful!!
I don't always have time for hand-made items, but I love doing it when possible and I love getting ideas from friends and family when they make Christmas crafts too!
A joyful heart today have I, and here's the simple reason why - within ignites your light and mine inviting all to bravely shine!
